Description
Ampelourgia Mpeka was established in 1998 as a vertically integrated production unit in the Peloponnese. Operations span two regions — Arkadia and Corinthia — with 50 acres of vineyards for wine production and an additional 10 acres for Sultanina table grapes, plus the cultivation of aromatic herbs such as oregano, all under organic farming principles.
The stone winery sits in the village of Chotousa, Mantinea, Arkadia, at approximately 800 metres altitude — just beyond Levidi and before Vytina. Grape cultivars include Moschofilero, Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, Moschato, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, all organically grown.
Winery Tour and Wine Tasting
- Winery Visit: Get a comprehensive overview of the Ampelourgia Mpeka vertically integrated winery operation — understanding how they control the entire production chain from vineyard to bottle
- Peloponnese Wine Introduction: Learn about the estate’s philosophy and the Peloponnesian varieties cultivated across Arkadia and Corinthia
- Wine Tasting: Taste a selection of Ampelourgia Mpeka wines and discover what a vertically integrated Peloponnesian winery can achieve
Guided winery tours commence with informative explanations taking you on a journey from the vineyard to the glass, led by Ms. Meletsi Sophia, who provides insights into local cuisine and its flavors. The tour concludes with the opportunity to taste the wines in the enchanting setting of the winery. Explore more Peloponnese experiences.
