Description
Ampelourgia Mpeka was established in 1998 as a vertically integrated production unit in the Peloponnese. Operations span two regions — Arkadia and Corinthia — with 50 acres of vineyards and an additional 10 acres for Sultanina table grapes, plus aromatic herbs such as oregano, all under organic farming principles.
The stone winery sits in the village of Chotousa, Mantinea, Arkadia, at approximately 800 metres altitude. Grape cultivars include Moschofilero, Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, Moschato, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, all organically grown.
Cooking Class
- Peloponnese Cooking Class: Learn authentic Peloponnesian recipes that incorporate the estate’s wines as cooking ingredients — stews, sauces, and reductions that showcase wine’s culinary versatility
- Wine Integration: Understand the principles of cooking with wine — choosing the right wine for different dishes, alcohol reduction, and flavour concentration
- Wine-Paired Meal: Sit down to the full meal you’ve cooked, paired with Ampelourgia Mpeka wines in a complete expression of Peloponnesian food and wine culture
Sophia’s cooking class welcomes all participants into a warm, communal setting filled with vibrant colors, captivating aromas, and tantalizing flavors. All ingredients are procured from local producers renowned for their exceptional quality. Each lesson concludes with a tasting featuring wines that perfectly complement the culinary creations prepared during the class. Explore more Peloponnese experiences.
