Ktima Spiropoulos

Ktima Spiropoulos is located in the heart of Arcadia in the Mantineia region of Peloponnese, at 627 metres above sea level — a few hundred yards from the ancient walls, market, and theatre of the ancient city of Mantineia. Designed in 1987 by Dr. Argyris Petronotis, Professor of Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and constructed in 1989, the estate is defined by its striking traditional Arcadian stone tower that dominates the modern winery building. Located one kilometre from the site of Ancient Mantineia and close to the unique architectural landmark of the church of Agia Fotini on the Anchisi Road — which since mythical times has connected Mantineia to Arcadian Orchomenos — the estate is as rich in history as it is in wine. In the “Protected Designation of Origin” area of Mantinia we cultivate more than 35 Ha of mostly moschofilero grape variety at an altitude ranging from 627 to 655 meters, The vineyards are located in three separate zones: the Artemisio region, the collective vineyard of Zevgolatio, and the collective vineyard of the village of Agiorgitika.
