In 2003, Amorgion became the first company on the island of Amorgos, Aegean Islands, to patent both Amorgion rakomelo and psimeni raki — establishing a nationwide reputation for producing these traditional drinks. A new distillery and winery followed, producing organic wines, organic raki, a unique ouzo, and a local prickly pear-based tequila.
