Mark your calendar! The Central Wine Fair returns on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 12:00 to 21:00 at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel on Syngrou Avenue. This year, 58 winemakers from Attica, Thessaly, and Central Greece will gather in the Aphrodite Hall to showcase their wine collections and offer a full “taste profile” of these regions, the core of mainland Greece.

Key Highlights of This Year’s Event:
🍷 A Record 58 Producers will present their wines at professionally curated stands, spanning 700 square meters of exhibition space. Discover well-loved winemakers and explore emerging small wineries that bring a fresh take on Greek vineyards. A mix of grape varieties, styles, personalities, and regions creates a vibrant experience at the Central Wine Fair.

🍷 An Opportunity to Delve into the Unique Terroirs of Attica, Thessaly, and Central Greece. Each area brings something special, with native grape varieties, a unique winemaking approach, and wines that tell rich stories behind each label. From Attica’s Savatiano and Retsina, Thessaly’s Limniona, to Central Greece’s Malagousia and Mouchtaro, plus Greek-grown international varieties, the diversity is endless, and winemakers are eager to introduce you to their vineyards.

🍷 Blending Business with Wine Passion. This fair is an ideal meeting space for industry professionals—restaurants looking to refresh their wine lists, suppliers, and more—who will have access to almost all the producers under one roof. For wine lovers, the Central Wine Fair offers the joy of discovering new wines, enhancing knowledge, and meeting the people behind the labels.

🍷 Parallel Event 🍷
In another part of the hotel, a side event will feature three themed “wine bars,” each highlighting flagship grape varieties from one of the three regions: Attica’s Savatiano, Central Greece’s Malagousia, and Thessaly’s Limniona. Knowledgeable sommeliers will serve and explain the unique qualities of each wine, with selected wines available to help participants gain a deeper understanding of each region’s style, quality, and distinctiveness.

🎟️ Tickets and Participation:
Tickets can be purchased in advance through the more.com platform (by Viva) for €9. On the day of the event, tickets will cost €12 (€9 for students) and include a commemorative tasting glass. Pre-sales start on October 20.

🍾🍾 The Central Wine Fair 2024 offers more than a tasting—it’s an exploration of the richness and tradition of Greek vineyards. Come experience the wines of tomorrow and discover new favourites in a warm, festive atmosphere just before the holidays!
