Komi, one of the most vibrant villages on the island, is built on the largest and most fertile plain of the island, the Livadi, which leads to the Kolibithra beach.
Most of the agricultural production of Tinos derives from Komi. Artichokes are produced in large quantities, a typical local product of the island.
It is no coincidence that every year, at the beginning of May, the Artichoke Festival is held here. At the annual event, women of the village cook artichokes in every way, in unlikely combinations. The traditional violins and dancing keep up till dawn.
During the day, about 10,000 artichokes are consumed!
