A Unique Journey into the World of Bees
From March 4 to March 9, Korai Square in Piraeus transforms into a lively celebration of bees, honey, and beekeeping — welcoming visitors to the Honey & Bee Products Festival. This year’s edition once again highlights the importance of bees in nature, Greek beekeeping traditions, and the richness of local honey varieties.
What to Expect at the Festival
The festival brings together around 50 beekeepers from all over Greece — from Crete and the Peloponnese to Macedonia and Epirus — presenting authentic Greek honey and bee products such as:
- Pure honey from diverse regions
- Royal jelly
- Bee pollen and propolis
- Beeswax
- Honeycomb and artisanal delicacies
This is a unique opportunity to meet the producers, learn about their craft, and discover the nutritional value and therapeutic properties of bee products.
Festival Highlights & Activities
The program includes a rich lineup of events for all ages:
- Educational presentations about bee biology, ecology, and the environmental threats bees face
- Workshops and activities for children, teaching them the role of bees in ecosystems
- Honey tastings featuring distinctive Greek honey varieties
- Culinary showcases and tastings that pair honey with traditional and modern recipes
- Interactive displays where visitors learn about beekeeping equipment and methods (drawing inspiration from large honey festivals across Greece)

Bees are essential pollinators that support biodiversity, agriculture, and a healthy food system. The festival not only celebrates honey as a delicious natural product but also raises awareness about sustainable beekeeping and environmental protection.
