In the village of Paranesti near Drama, Macedonia, ‘The Bear’s Honey’ (To Meli tis Arkoudas) has been producing exceptional mountain honey since 1950. Located at the edge of the extraordinary Frakto virgin forest — one of Europe’s last primeval forests — this family apiary creates honey of unparalleled complexity. Our facility is situated 80km from the island of Thassos and 60km from the forest of Fraktos.
