At ‘The Bear’s Honey’ apiary in Paranesti, Drama, Macedonia, this two-hour craft workshop teaches the ancient art of making natural beeswax ointments and cosmetics. Using pure beeswax from the extraordinary Frakto forest hives, visitors create their own healing products. “To Meli tis Arkoudas” (“The Bear’s Honey”) is a small family-owned apiary facility active since 1950, situated 60 km from the forest of Fraktos and 80 km from the island of Thassos.
