The first mushroom-picking outing of the year is on September 22 2024!
This year, our journey into the magical world of fungi begins in the historic and beautiful town of Kalavryta. Known for its natural beauty and attractions, Kalavryta is a popular destination throughout the year, especially in winter due to its excellent ski centre infrastructure. This excursion is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the collection and identification of wild mushrooms in a lush, green environment.
The excursion includes:
- Mushroom identification and collection seminars are conducted by our experienced team of instructors.
- Q&A sessions about the world of wild mushrooms and truffles.
- Outdoor walks through beautiful forests and sites in the Greek countryside, located about 2-3 hours from Athens.
- A picnic featuring wild mushroom orzo and an omelette with fresh wild truffle.
- Moments for relaxation and reconnection with nature and ourselves.
Transportation is to be arranged by your vehicle. You will need to bring a basket, a knife, a brush for cleaning mushrooms of soil and leaves, and, of course, a positive attitude!
