Voyatzis Estate

The Voyatzis family originates from Velvento, 30 km east of Kozani in Macedonia. Members of the third generation — Yannis (who studied oenology at the University of Bordeaux), his engineer brother Niko, and their father Harissis — returned to Velvento with a shared vision: to establish a privately owned vineyard and winery on the site of an old Voyatzis family vineyard near Lake Velvento. Between 1991 and 1994, a new modern vineyard was planted across 40 hectares, combining local and international varieties to produce wines of high quality combining particularity with distinctive character and a genuine sense of the Kozani wine landscape. This now covers 40Ha with local and other international varieties aiming to produce high-quality wines, which combine particularity with distinctive character.
