Venetsanos Wine Museum

Venetsanos Winery is located just above the Santorini port of Athinios in the Aegean Islands, with a splendid view towards the iconic caldera. The Venetsanos family, with its long tradition in Santorini wine production, built this winery in 1947 — making it the first industrialised winery on Santorini. Its most characteristic feature is a gravity-flow structural design conceived when electricity was scarce, using the natural slope of the caldera to move wine through the production process without pumps. Over the years, the family expanded from island sales to international export, particularly to Russia.
