Gavalas Winery

Gavalas Winery is one of the oldest wineries on Aegean Islands Santorini, situated in the traditional village of Megalochori. Since the end of the 19th century, the Gavalas family has been exclusively engaged in winemaking using the indigenous varieties of the island — a commitment that spans over 120 years of uninterrupted Santorini wine culture. Today the estate spans over two hectares of vineyard within the PDO Santorini zone, cultivating Assyrtiko, Athiri, and Aidani alongside several rare local varieties: Katsano, Gaidouria, Mavrotragano, and Voudomato — varieties found nowhere else in the world.
