“Tentura Kastro” distillery is among the best-known and traditional Greek companies a constant innovator in the field of spirits and distillates. A family business established in the19th century on the fragrant island of Chios, the company moved to the foot of the castle of Patras in 1939. The production was then transferred to a modern plant in the area of Romanos in 1993. The area is famous for its excellent water quality and has the right environmental conditions for maturing and storing the distillates and extracts in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.
Combining the traditional way of making beverages with modern bottling and standardization methods has been very important in the company’s development.
SPIRITS TASTING SESSION
Visitors will taste alcoholic beverages from 100% natural extracts. Of particular interest are beverages developed during scientific research studies carried out by the company in collaboration with the Democritus University of Thrace, which analyzed their ingredients and beneficial health properties (ESPA 2007-2013) of those distillates. This venture started with the participation of our distillery in the project “Europe in My Region 2017” of the European Union and has continued since then. Visitors may also try our loukoumi and the xeroloukoumi Tentura (another type of loukoumi).
