Sparkling & Sweet Wine Tasting in Athens
Foam & Nectar 2025 returns for its 5th edition — a prestigious wine-tasting event in Athens celebrating the world of sparkling and sweet wines. Hosted at The Lighthouse in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC), this exclusive experience takes place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
To ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience, the event is divided into two tasting sessions: 12:00–16:00 and 16:30–20:30, allowing guests to explore the wines comfortably while enjoying a panoramic view of the Athenian Riviera.

“Afros & Nectar” focuses exclusively on two beloved wine categories — sparkling and dessert wines — offering a rare opportunity for visitors to taste and compare Greek and international labels side by side.
Champagnes & Sparkling Wines
Champagne, the world-famous French sparkling wine from the Champagne region, remains the timeless symbol of celebration. Alongside it, Greek sparkling wines have been flourishing, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and vibrant flavours that rival the best in the world.
Sweet & Fortified Wines
Greece’s long-standing winemaking tradition shines in its sweet wines, many of which enjoy global acclaim. The category also includes fortified wines, which are not always sweet, yet are equally complex and elegant — perfect for after-dinner enjoyment or pairing with desserts.
Event Highlights
The mission of Foam & Nectar 2025 is twofold:
- Taste before the holidays – Discover and select premium champagnes, sparkling, and dessert wines just before the Christmas season, when their consumption peaks.
- Promote year-round enjoyment – Encourage wine lovers to appreciate sparkling and sweet wines throughout the year, with or without food, and not just on special occasions.
A special tasting area will also feature award-winning wines from the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions. Many of these rare labels are not available on the Greek market, making this showcase a unique experience.
