The winemakers of Naoussa invite you to a unique three-day event dedicated to Xinomavro, the wine synonymous with the region and its culture. From Friday, January 24, to Sunday, January 26, the annual wine exhibition “Naoussa, the City of Wine” will take place in Naoussa, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
Event Highlights:
Friday: Welcome Party
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a welcome party hosted at four popular venues in the town (“The Boston’s,” Music Café “Sirius,” Wine Bar “Xinomavro,” and Wine Shop & Bar “Whole Bunches”). This evening promises live music, a relaxed atmosphere, and, of course, the first glasses of Xinomavro. Each venue will feature a unique selection of wines to choose from.
🎟️ Ticket Bonus: Every ticket enters you into a draw for four (4) Magnum bottles of Naoussa wine (4 winners, one bottle each). The draw will take place at the end of the events, with winners announced on the social media pages of “Naoussa Wine.”
Saturday & Sunday: Main Exhibition at Vetlans Building
On Saturday and Sunday, the Vetlans building becomes the event’s hub. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste exceptional wines from Naoussa’s wineries, meet the people behind them, and uncover the stories behind each label.
Saturday Special Events:
The experience is enriched with three key parallel activities, showcasing the unique wine identity of the region:
- Highlighting Naoussa as a top wine tourism destination.
- Exploring the complexity of Xinomavro.
- Examining the unique characteristics of Naoussa’s subregions and vineyards.
Distinguished wine professionals, including Pavlos Gekas, Stefanos Koyas, and Haroula Spinthiropoulou, will share their knowledge and insights, adding depth and perspective to the discussions.
Sunday Focus:
The spotlight shifts to Naoussa’s wineries and the possibilities wine tourism offers in the area. Visitors can tour winery facilities, learn about the Xinomavro production process, and experience the authentic hospitality of Naoussa firsthand. This is a unique opportunity to explore the flavour and heritage of Xinomavro while connecting with the passionate individuals who keep Naoussa’s winemaking tradition alive.
