In 2003, Amorgion became the first company on the island of Amorgos, Aegean Islands, to patent both Amorgion rakomelo and psimeni raki — establishing a nationwide reputation for producing these traditional island spirits. A new distillery and winery followed, producing organic wines, organic raki, a unique ouzo, and a local prickly pear-based tequila. The enterprise also includes a workshop producing traditional Amorgian recipes for pasteli and loukoumi — making Amorgion one of the most complete artisan food and spirits producers in the Aegean.
