Melas-Epidavros Olive Oil Domain was founded in 1994 by Evangelos Melas, son of a third-generation olive oil producer, an organic farmer with deep knowledge and extensive experience in olive oil production.
Located in Lygourio, near Epidavros, in the prefecture of Argolida in the Peloponnese, the estate has targeted the international market since its first commercial operations, with a philosophy grounded in quality and high organoleptic characteristics.
Among its first products was the extra virgin olive oil of the “Manaki” variety, a Protected Designation of Origin PDO “Ligourio Asklepios” of the Argolid prefecture since 1996, known internationally for its unique quality and flavor.
In 2008, growing demand led to new, modern facilities at the current location — an olive press exclusively for organic olive oil and a second line for conventional olive oil, with vertical production and total quality control over production, storage, and bottling.

The experience begins in the Olive Trees Bio Garden with a 6-minute video presentation on the heritage of olive cultivation, followed by a walk through the modern crushing factory where two production lines reveal the stages of crafting organic olive oil and the P.D.O. Ligourio Asklepieion extra virgin olive oil from the “Manaki” variety.
The tour continues into the laboratory, where quality control processes ensure the excellence of each batch, stored in stainless steel tanks.
