Mercouri Estate is an old family-owned enterprise with 156 years of history, situated near Korakochori, Elia, Peloponnese, by the sea in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Five generations of the Mercouri-Kanellakopoulos family, from 1864 to date, have cultivated the land producing premium wines and extra virgin olive oil.
The estate cultivates its traditional variety Refosco alongside Greek varieties Mavrodaphne, Avgoustiatis, Agiorgitiko, Assyrtiko, and Robola; Italian varieties of Greek origin Negroamaro and Malvazia Aromatica; and international varieties Syrah, Mourvèdre, Viognier, and Albariño. The olive groves, planted with the Koroneiki variety, yield a superb extra virgin olive oil that completes the estate’s range.
