Oilympian Koufolias – Olive Oil Mill

“Oilympian Koufolias – Olive Oil Mill” was established in 1970 and is run today by the 3rd generation of the Koufolias family. The facilities are located in Makrisia, a village in the Olympia province of Elia, Peloponnese — five kilometers from the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia.

“Koufolias Olive Oil Mill” produces extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) with over 50 years of accumulated experience in olive oil making. The family maintains the same passion and love, focusing on developing new approaches to producing the highest quality extra virgin olive oil.

The mill is open to the public all year. Visitors can see an open-air museum with 100 years of history, tour the modern olive oil processing machinery, and watch a video on the production process. They will then take part in an olive oil tasting of the organic P.G.I. Olympia Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), along with olives infused in EVOO with rosemary, garlic, or lemon, accompanied by fresh homemade bread in the middle of the olive grove with the famous Koroneiki olive trees. Visitors will learn all the secrets of Greece’s green gold — how to recognise fresh extra virgin olive oil, identify Greek olive varieties, and choose the best olive oil for every use. Before leaving, purchases are available from the retail store.
