Kokkiadis Honey Farm

Having as a priority respect for nature and human health, we have created a sustainable honey farm, using its own renewable energy.
We are striving to produce authentic Cretan beekeeping products in a pure and natural way as the story of our grandparents taught us. Our premium Cretan honey and traditional products are rich in natural nutrients making the difference and standing out from the other honey products on the market highlighting homemade, award-winning for exceptional quality, sugar-free or low sugar, antibiotics and pesticides-free, delicious taste, and organic composition.
Our bees feed exclusively on the rich flowers and Cretan herbs found only on the island of Crete and specifically in Selakanos forest, located in the Lassithi region’s mountains and the surroundings of Athanati village in the Heraklion region of Crete, Greece.

TOUR AND TASTING

We welcome our guests, and as soon as they wear their protective bee suits, we guide them to the winter bee garden. There we share with them information about honey production and bees. Specifically, we explain the types of bees, how they work within the hives, how the honey is being collected, what is the quantity of honey each bee can carry in the hives during their lifetime. Also, guests learn how many years a bee can live, and various information about honey production and the quality of the honey.
Then we visit the indoor honey farm, where guests can see the equipment of the beekeeper and learn more details about each tool.
The visitors tasting of all products of the honey farm such as honey, marmalade, sweet spoon cherry, rakomelo, liqueur, and olive oil.
