Panagiotis Thamnidis (agronomist) and Panagiotis Kordosis (chemical engineer) established the «Brewery of the Peloponnese» in the Nemea region, under the brand name “Karma Beer.” The project was born when the founders had the opportunity to taste beers from Belgian, German, and Dutch brewers and realised that craft beer was a completely different product from what Greeks were used to drinking.
Their vision: produce craft beers with personality and flavour complexity, using Greek malts, water from Nemea, and hops from around the world. The “Brewery of Peloponnese” benefits from the advice of Avi Salev, one of Israel’s foremost brew-masters, while the founders’ own hands-on involvement ensures a more scientific, innovative approach — creating new formulas rather than simply repeating established ones. Their motto is “Drink Local.”
Visitors are introduced to craft beer and observe the brewers in action, smelling the aromas of malt and hops while learning about the tastes of different beer styles. Each brewery tour includes a tasting of three fresh samples drawn directly from the storage tanks, accompanied by local appetizers prepared with fresh regional ingredients and traditional paximadi made from the same malt used in production.
*For groups larger than 25 persons, reservations are required one week before arrival.
