Description
Our story begins in Alikampos, Chania, Crete, where our father Andreas Dourakis always envisioned his own winery in the village where he was born. After studying winemaking in Germany and honing his skills at wineries in northern Greece, his return home in 1988 marked the birth of Dourakis Winery — producer of Logari, the first privately bottled wine in Chania.
At a time when most wines on the market were cheap bulk wines from co-ops, Andreas had to convince a whole generation that quality wines respecting the Cretan soil were worthy of attention. Today the family continues his vision for innovative and authentic wines that reflect their core values and the land of Apokoronas.
The winery features a botanical garden filled with Cretan herbs, a labyrinth of rooms including a sparkling wine room, a cave cellar built into the side of the mountain, and a winemaking and folklore museum. Dourakis also hosts cooking classes, art exhibitions, concerts, and stargazing nights.

Amazing wine tasting and food! Staff was very tolerant of our children, so much appreciated. The only thing was we were expecting a tour that never happened.
