Bekas Buffalo Farm provides ideal living conditions for Greek water-buffalo on the slopes of Mount Beles, beside the river Strimonas and Lake Kerkini in Macedonia. The herds graze freely on the beautiful green wetland landscape, benefiting from the unique ecosystem of one of Europe’s most important bird reserves while producing high-quality buffalo milk of exceptional nutritional value. Born from a deep love and respect for buffalos, the current company was established in 2007 outside Sindos — 15 km west of Thessaloniki — to process buffalo milk and create artisan dairy products drawing on the Bekas family’s long tradition in this field.
