Anoskeli – Olive Oil & Winery Tour with Tasting in Crete

Anoskeli Agricultural Company S.A. was founded in 1983 by the Mamidakis family and named after their birthplace — a small village between Kissamos and Chania, Crete. The village hosts the company’s privately owned premises: a state-of-the-art olive oil production facility and a boutique winery, along with 12 ha of olive groves with 2,888 olive trees and a 2 ha vineyard.

The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certifications. The olive oil plant spans over 400 sq.m. with modern machinery, a fully automated bottling line, and stainless-steel storage tanks with an aggregate capacity of 1,000 tons. Anoskeli produces and packs extra virgin olive oil and organic extra virgin olive oil from cold-pressed Koroneiki olives — both bearing the Kolymvari Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and recipients of numerous awards.

Since 2011, Anoskeli produces bottled wine under the Ano Playa label (dry white, dry red, and dry rosé), using Greek local grape varieties Vidiano, Vilana, and Assyrtiko alongside French varieties Syrah, Grenache Rouge, and Cabernet Sauvignon. A range of limited-edition red wines under the Anoferia label and a premium tsikoudia under the Ano Kato brand complete the portfolio.

The facilities are open to the public year-round, offering guided tours by specialised personnel. The tasting and exhibition hall — named after the family’s mother, Eirini — welcomes guests for olive oil tasting, wine tasting, and cultural events. After the guided tour, visitors taste organic extra virgin olive oil, five different wines, and tsikoudia, paired with Cretan appetisers.
