In 2003, Amorgion became the first company in Greece on the island of Amorgos to patent the rakomelo and the psimeni raki, establishing a reputation for producing these drinks in the country. Sometime later, Amorgion established a new distillery and winery, to produce organic wines, organic raki, a unique ouzo, and a local prickly pear-based tequila, along with a workshop to produce local Amorgian recipes used to make pasteli, and loukoumi, among others delights using prickly pear honey.
