Monemvasia Winery was founded by G.Tsibidis in 1997 and is located in Monemvasia, Laconia, as part of a wider plan with a clearly-defined objective: the revival of the legendary Malvasia wine in its birthplace, from a winery focused on one hand in research, viticulture, winemaking, bottling, distribution, promotion and trading and, on the other hand, to produce high quality wines through a 30 ha vineyard cultivating Greek grape varieties such as monemvasia, kydonitsa, assyrtiko, asprouda, mavroudi, agiorgitiko, limniona, moschofilero, roditis and malagouzia.
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the wine in the region of Monemvasia and learn about the legendary Monemvasia-Malvasia wine, a sweet dessert wine made from sun-dried grapes that dominated markets from east to west for five centuries, tour the winery’s facilities while getting informed about the production’s procedures.
Finally, visitors will taste a variety of our wines, including the legendary sweet PDO Monemvasia-Malvasia wine from sun dried grapes and eventually make their purchases from the retail store in preferential prices.
