The 15th Thessaloniki Honey Festival is returning, now in its 15th year as a Thessaloniki tradition, where thousands have come to appreciate the significance of bees and their produce, while also enjoying treats (starting at 9 p.m. on the first day, according to the schedule) and interacting with local producers.

As announced by the Thessaloniki Beekeepers’ Association: “We are thrilled to present the 15th Thessaloniki Honey Festival, taking place from Thursday, October 17, to Sunday, October 20, at Xarhakos Park. This event has become a fixture, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate the rich heritage of beekeeping and the essential role of bees and their products.

Now in its 15th edition, the Thessaloniki Honey Festival provides a unique opportunity for visitors to meet local beekeepers, learn about the honey-making process, and sample a diverse array of nature’s treasures. Local producers will showcase their offerings, including honey, royal jelly, pollen, propolis, and other bee-related products, highlighting their quality and authenticity.

This year’s festival promises a range of activities for all ages. Educational seminars and talks will offer valuable insights into honey’s health benefits and the challenges bees and beekeepers face. Interactive workshops will be available for children, where they can create bee-themed crafts and discover more about the crucial role of bees in the ecosystem.

Visitors will also have the chance to participate in tastings and enjoy honey-based treats, as is the tradition, courtesy of the Thessaloniki Beekeepers’ Association. Our aim is not only to highlight honey as a valuable food but also to raise awareness about the need to protect bees, which are vital ‘guardians’ of biodiversity.

The 15th Thessaloniki Honey Festival is organized with the support of the Thessaloniki Beekeepers’ Association, the 5th Community of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

We invite everyone to come and enjoy this sweet celebration filled with flavours, aromas, and activities for the whole family. Let’s celebrate the bees, support local producers, and share beautiful moments, all centred around our love for honey.”
