The Cultural Association of Pyrgos Kymi, in partnership with the Panhellenic Mushroom Foraging Association, warmly invites you to the 2nd Annual Mushroom Festival of Pyrgos Kymis, Evia on October 27, 2024. Join us in Pyrgos, Kymi—a stunning and lush village that’s the perfect backdrop for a day of forest exploration and gourmet mushroom experiences.

On Sunday, October 27, 2024, we’ll venture into the magical forests of Evia to discover the wonders of wild mushrooms, guided by expert instructors from the Panhellenic Mushroom Foraging Association. Together, we’ll learn to identify and forage for these hidden gems in a way that’s respectful of both nature and safety.

Festival Highlights:

9:30 a.m. Gathering: Meet at the Pyrgos Kymi Community Recreation Area before setting out for an unforgettable mushroom foraging adventure led by seasoned instructors.

Foraging Expedition: Delve into the forest, learning techniques for spotting and collecting wild mushrooms until 1:00 p.m.

Return to the Village Square: Enjoy live demonstrations and expert-led identification sessions to learn more about your finds.

Gourmet Mushroom Picnic: Relish a spread of wild mushroom and truffle dishes prepared by our chefs, featuring delicacies like truffle mushroom risotto, wild mushroom omelet, fine wine, and fresh salad.

What to Bring: Please bring a basket, a knife, and a small brush to gently clean your mushrooms, plus a touch of curiosity and good company! To support our eco-friendly efforts, we encourage you to bring your own plate, cutlery, and cup.
