Description
Just 5 km outside Messolonghi, between the great rivers Acheloos and Evinos in Central Greece, Kakkavos Estate manages one of Greece’s largest olive farms — 40 hectares with 6,000 olive trees.
This remarkable estate also produces premium bottarga (avgotaraho) from the legendary lagoon of Messolonghi. The estate has belonged to the family since 1870 and has recently been extended, reviving cultivations using modern scientific methods to produce Kalamata olives and olive oil from four different varieties of olive trees.
