Monemvasia Winery was founded by G. Tsibidis in 1997 in Monemvasia, Laconia, Peloponnese, with a clearly defined and ambitious objective: the revival of the legendary Malvasia wine in its historic birthplace. The winery is devoted to research, viticulture, winemaking, and the promotion of high-quality wines from a 30-hectare vineyard cultivating an extraordinary range of Greek varieties — Monemvasia, Kydonitsa, Assyrtiko, Asprouda, Mavroudi, Agiorgitiko, Limniona, Moschofilero, Roditis, and Malagousia. The newly completed winery (2020) is conveniently situated at the 57th kilometre of the Sparta-Gytheio national road. Monemvasia Winery was founded by G.Tsibidis in 1997 and is located in Monemvasia, Laconia, as part of a wider plan with a clearly-defined objective: the revival of the legendary Malvasia wine in its birthplace, from a winery focused on one hand in research, viticulture, winemaking, bottling, distribution, promotion and trading and, on the other hand, to produce high quality wines through a 30 ha vineyard cultivating Greek grape varieties such as monemvasia, kydonitsa, assyrtiko, asprouda, mavroudi, agiorgitiko, limniona, moschofilero, roditis and malagouzia.
