Description

Monemvasia Winery was founded by G. Tsibidis in 1997 in Monemvasia, Laconia, Peloponnese, with a clearly defined and ambitious objective: the revival of the legendary Malvasia wine in its historic birthplace. The winery is devoted to research, viticulture, winemaking, and the promotion of high-quality wines from a 30-hectare vineyard cultivating an extraordinary range of Greek varieties — Monemvasia, Kydonitsa, Assyrtiko, Asprouda, Mavroudi, Agiorgitiko, Limniona, Moschofilero, Roditis, and Malagousia. The newly completed winery (2020) is conveniently situated at the 57th kilometre of the Sparta-Gytheio national road. Monemvasia Winery was founded by G.Tsibidis in 1997 and is located in Monemvasia, Laconia, as part of a wider plan with a clearly-defined objective: the revival of the legendary Malvasia wine in its birthplace, from a winery focused on one hand in research, viticulture, winemaking, bottling, distribution, promotion and trading and, on the other hand, to produce high quality wines through a 30 ha vineyard cultivating Greek grape varieties such as monemvasia, kydonitsa, assyrtiko, asprouda, mavroudi, agiorgitiko, limniona, moschofilero, roditis and malagouzia. TOUR AND TASTING Our newly established winery, completed in 2020, is conveniently situated at the 57th Km of the National Road Tarapsa-Monemvasia, just 10 Km from the Castle of Monemvasia.
