G-Fish

In 1969, the Gerontidis family founded one of Greece’s first trout and salmon fish farms in Kastori, Laconia, between Sparta, Megalopolis, and Kalamata in the Peloponnese. Today G-Fish is the only company in Greece producing gourmet smoked trout, smoked salmon, smoked sturgeon, and salmon caviar.

The fish grow in the spring waters of Saint Mammas at Mt. Taygetos. G-Fish uses the traditional hot-smoking method with beech wood, producing products with a delicate flavour and rich aroma. Visitors can explore the fish farming and breeding tanks up close, feed or catch their own fish, and learn about each species. Hikes in the verdant Kastori and the gorge of the northern Taygetos are also available.
