North Chios Wine, Nature & Thermal Baths Day Tour

A collective of five families united by a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly tourism on Chios — organising hiking excursions, maintaining trails, and supporting activities that connect nature with local culture in the Aegean Islands.

This full-day North Chios tour combines wine tasting at Ariousios Winery, a nature walk through lush valleys, free time by the sea, and relaxation at the thermal baths of Agiasmata.

An optional visit to the Volissos Archaeological Collection traces the history of Ariousios wine through three thematic sections: the trade of amphorae, the worship of Dionysus, and vessels used at symposia. At Ariousios Winery — the only visitable winery on Chios — a guided tour of the underground cellar reveals wines maturing in French oak barrels, with special attention to the flagship aged wine “Ariousios.” Wine tasting is optional (€10 per person).

The nature walk continues through a shaded valley lined with pine, cypress, chestnut, mulberry, and seasonal fruit trees, rich with aromas of oregano, balsam, and native herbs. The trail passes small chapels and stone-paved paths before revealing panoramic views of Eftychia Beach in Egrigoros. Depending on the season, guests may taste wild asparagus, blackberries, almonds, pears, or figs.

The thermal baths of Agiasmata (July 1st – October 31st) offer 20 minutes in private or shared bathtubs (€6 on site), optional reflexology (€15–20), and massage treatments. The day concludes with a meal at a local taverna in Agiasmata or Volissos (not included).
