Description
The Boutaris winery in Crete is located on the outskirts of the village of Skalani on the Phantaxometoho estate. Located just 8 km from Heraklion city center and 4 km from the archaeological site of Knossos, it is the jewel of the Archanes viticultural zone.
The Phantaxometoho estate, known as “the priory of phantoms,” owes its name to the efforts of its previous owner to protect it from pirate raids by spreading rumors that ghosts haunt the estate.
The winery is open to the public and has a complete range of services for visitors.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Discover and explore the History and Culture behind the Cretan diet, with the company of our two executive hosts. Our Estate’s Mrs Chysi will demonstrate and direct you into making 5 different Cretan dishes, and our certified sommelier will share with you our knowledge regarding Wine Making in Crete. This experience will offer you an expertise in making a traditional homemade recipe from scratch. At the end of your experience you will enjoy the recipes you made with wines of our Estate which will pair harmoniously.
