The Gofas family has been cultivating its own vineyards across generations in Peloponnese, though it was not until 1959 that the family began producing wine — initially from their privately-owned vineyard in the Koutsi and Daphne region of Nemea, using hand-driven equipment at the family home. In 2011, the premises relocated to a modern winery at Koutsi, next to the mythical Asopos river. The philosophy has always been straightforward: since only high-quality grapes can lead to high-quality wine, Gofas uses exclusively grapes from its own 8-hectare vineyard, growing Agiorgitiko, Malagousia, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Kydonitsa, and Sauvignon Gris. Since only high-quality grapes can lead to high-quality wine, we only use grapes coming from our own vineyard of about 8 Ha, where we grow the Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Kydοnitsa and Sauvignon Gris grape varieties, and applying total quality control.
