Description
Callicounis Distillery enjoys the highest distinction as one of the oldest distilleries still operating in Greece under the ownership of the family that founded it in 1850.
Innovation, quality and ethics are the resonant principles that keep this historical company in the forefront as it slowly moves into the fifth consecutive generation of the Callicounis family.
Callicounis Distillery was founded thanks to the inspiration and skill of the company founder, Nikolaos Callicounis, who envisioned and introduced steam technology to Kalamata in 1800.
As one of the oldest distilleries in Greece, know-how and experience have been transmitted from generation to generation, culminating in the award of numerous prizes.
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors can follow a guided tour of the distillery, watch the distillation process, see the production and bottling of the entire range of beverages, and witness the oak aging barrels stored in the cellar.
A tasting concludes the visit.
