Venetsanos wine museum is located just above the Santorini port of Athinios and has a splendid view towards the iconic caldera. The Venetsanos family, with its long tradition in wine production used to market its wines on the island but over the years began exporting, mostly to Russia.
The winery was built in 1947 and became the first industrialized winery in Santorini. Its most characteristic feature is its structural design, which used gravity to improve energy efficiency when electricity and other energy sources were very limited.
TOUR DESCRIPTION AND TASTING
Venetsanos winery offers a tour of the museum exhibits and a wine tasting session on the outdoor veranda overlooking the island’s famous caldera. During the tasting, we provide detailed information for each wine that visitors can enjoy, together with local à la carte dishes.
