The Dougos family embarked on its journey into the world of Greek wine in 1991. It was a journey that became a fascinating venture in creating vineyards and producing top quality wines. The company’s primary desire has always been to develop quality wines from our organically cultivated vineyards, with respect for the environment and concern for the health of consumers.
These ideals were passed on to the wine company’s second generation – to Thanos, an agriculturalist, and to Louiza, a chemist and oenologist. The winery is located at the foot of Mt Olympus, in the magical Tempi valley, just a kilometer from Tempi highway toll post 30 km north of Larissa. One hectare of lush greenery and vineyards, where 29 varieties of vine are on display, surround the winery, whose traditional architecture is in harmony with the environment and enjoys a breathtaking view of Mts Olympus and Kissavos and the Pinios river.
The winery is equipped with the latest technological machinery for winemaking, and with full respect to the environment. Its total coverage is 500 square meters with a 250 square meter underground cellar where the red wines patiently mature in French and American oak barrels.
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors will tour the winemaking, bottling, and labeling facilities, the cellar where red wine ages in oak barrels, and walk at the vineyard during spring and summer to enjoy nature.
