“Afros and Nectar” presents a unique tasting experience exclusively dedicated to two exquisite categories of Greek and international wines: sparkling and sweet. Specifically, these encompass fortified and dessert wines, commonly savored before and after a delightful meal.
Now in its third year, the event will take place on December 10, from 12:00 to 20:00, at the modern and elegantly minimalist “Foyer of Arts” hall within the Athens Conservatory.
This gathering serves as a distinctive rendezvous for wine enthusiasts seeking the captivating effervescence of sparkling wines and the sumptuous warmth of sweet wines. Among the sparkling wines, the illustrious Champagne, an exclusive French sparkling wine from the Champagne region, retains its reign as the queen of bubbles. Yet, the event acknowledges the flourishing trend of Greek sparkling wines over the years.
Turning to sweet wines, where Greece boasts a world-class presence, the selection encompasses a broad spectrum within the ‘dessert wines’ category, extending to fortified wines that may not necessarily be sweet.
In addition to showcasing wines from Greek producers and local importers, this year’s “Afros & Nectar” will feature a special stand dedicated to Greek sweet wines recently honored at the prestigious international competition, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Simultaneously, the parallel events hall will host foreign sparkling and sweet wines recognized in the same competition—an esteemed global platform.
