Gastronomy Tours invites you to participate in a new activity, “The Restaurant of the Month”, introducing you to Greek Cuisine restaurants “, restaurants that have something to say”, starting in Athens. Each venue will reflect its own unique identity, whether it is a traditional tavern or a Michelin-starred destination.
The concept behind Gastronomy Tours’ Restaurant of the Month is simple: Every month, you will get a message to join in a dinner, to enjoy a specially curated menu designed by Timos Petridis, an experienced restaurateur and one of the few experts in gastronomic tourism. The experience is offered at approachable prices and is always accompanied by a thoughtfully selected wine list.

Our first featured restaurant is Volta, marking the beginning of a series of memorable dining experiences.
For the past 13 years, the restaurant has been an established presence on the Athenian dining scene, continuously evolving its culinary identity and flavours. The space — featuring large glass windows, ochre-colored cement flooring, a striking red wall, numbered chairs, and Kyveli’s handwritten cooking recipe displayed as wall art — evokes the atmosphere of a contemporary-style tavern, combining attention to detail with simplicity and genuine respect for its guests.
Service is warmly provided by the courteous and attentive owner, Mr Xenophon, while the kitchen is led by co-owner and partner Ms Elisabeth, whose creativity defines the restaurant’s cuisine.
We invite you to enjoy a light, colourful, and imaginative vegetarian menu that celebrates seasonal ingredients and Greek culinary tradition with a modern touch.

Mixed Green Salad with Seeds
Tender baby spinach and arugula with colourful peppers, carrot, and radish, complemented by a blend of dried fruits and seeds, finished with a fresh coriander and lime vinaigrette.
Spring Kagianas
Fresh young spinach with staka, organic eggs, sour trahana, and kefalotiri cheese.
Sougania with Adjika (Pontic Sauce)
Onion dolmades stuffed with rice and fresh herbs, served with a spicy Florina pepper sauce.
Roots
A celebration of what the earth provides: potato, onion, carrot, parsnip, beetroot, and ginger, gently glazed and served with carrot purée and sumac.
Wild Greens Pie with Handmade Filo
Filled with mironia (chervil), kafkalithres (Mediterranean hartwort) , chard, and feta cheese.
Vegetable Patties
Pumpkin purée and chickpea patties with fresh herbs, accompanied by pea hummus and a green salad.
Wine Pairing
Carefully selected wines from Mouson Estate accompany the menu harmoniously:

Praline Cheesecake
Homemade milk-chocolate praline cheesecake with a crunchy carob rusk base, honey, and sesame.
All dishes are served family-style, allowing guests to taste and share a variety of flavours.
