Description
Karonis Distillery is located in the Agia Paraskevi district of Nafplion, on the road to the Palamidi Fortress and just two minutes from the town centre. It is a family business that has been in operation over the last 145 years and is now run by Fotis and Yiannis Karonis from the 4th and 5th generation.
The company produces ouzo, tsipouro, and mastiha (an alcoholic beverage based on Chios mastic resin), all distilled in modern copper stills as well as a distinguished cherry extract (cherry liqueur) made with cherries from the Arcadia region.
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors have the opportunity to tour our premises and learn about all stages of production of the company’s products.
They can also visit our Distillery Museum with a variety of tools, machinery, books, objects, and company documents dating from 1880, see the first distiller and the original invoice of its purchase from France, and much more. You will also be able to tour the ouzo and tsipouro distilleries and ask any questions about these alcoholic beverages.
The tour ends with a tasting of our products.
