The history of Biogreco began in 2001 when three young people made a bold decision: to live with their families in Laconia, between Sparta and Gythio, Peloponnese, and produce something genuinely new. Stavros Argyropoulos and Babis Lyras (animal scientists) and Meletis Giannakos (a farmer) bet that they could supply the Greek market with chicken as it used to be — authentic, flavourful, certified, safe, and healthy. They succeeded in introducing fresh certified organic chicken to the Greek market for the first time. Today, Biogreco consists of four family poultry farms producing approximately 200,000 organic chickens per year.
