Sacred products of the land of Greece, such as olive oil, are produced by the George Ertsos family in Mantzavinata, close to Lixouri in Kefalonia, Ionian Islands.
The family’s orchards yield a renowned Kefalonian extra virgin olive oil of a rich golden-green colour, discreet but distinctive fruity aroma, and balanced flavour — an exceptional experience for even the most demanding of palates.
Produced without any additives or preservatives from koroneiki variety olives — listed among the world’s top varieties — this olive oil tasting experience reflects generations of traditional craft.
We start the tour in the morning by following a rural trail through ancient olive groves, with a brief overview of olive production and its development through the centuries.
Visitors will be treated with refreshments and watch a short 10-minute video about the production of Yennima Yis olive oil, followed by an introduction to the local culture food ‘Riganada’.
Each visitor receives a blue glass specific to olive oil tasting, is guided through the tasting process, and shares their impressions of the Kefalonian extra virgin olive oil.
