Tour, tasting and harp atmospheres at Korogonas Ark

The holistic community project Korogonas Ark was born at the end of 2012 upon the virgin land of the small Korogonas plateau in southern Peloponnese, 25km west of Monemvasia and 25km south of Molaoi. It is a member of the Global Ecovillages Network (GEN).

Located approximately 120 meters above sea level, facing south, with a mild climate and clean air — the sea is visible from the land and guests can track the entire trajectory of the sun from sunrise to sunset.

With nature their primary concern, the founders preserve the area’s wild flora in all its wealth and biodiversity. Wild olive, carob and pear trees and wild asparagus and herbs are protected, while more than 300 trees and a variety of bushes have been cultivated from scratch.

Vegetable gardens have been created using natural farming and permaculture practices. Olives from both wild olive trees (Olea oleaster) and cultivars are harvested exclusively by hand — yielding super-olive oil and wild olive oil considered a super food.

The fields of Korogonas Ark feature natural paths and gathering spaces under the shade of big trees named the Princess, the Four Graces, and the Dancer. Situated between two villages roughly 7 kilometers away, this Peloponnese holistic farm lies far from intensive agriculture and urban pollution.

This unique 3-hour sensory experience includes an olive and olive oil tasting session from both wild olive trees and cultivars, live harp melodies performed by one of Korogonas Ark’s founding members, and a Guided Imagery to Safe Haven via harp atmospheres.
