Description
The winery is located in the heart of Arcadia, in the Mantineia region fabled for its viniculture, 627 meters above sea level and only a few hundred yards from the ancient walls, market, and theater of the ancient city, one kilometre from the site of Ancient Mantineia and the recent unique architectural site of the church of Agia Fotini on the Anchisi Road, which, since mythical times, has led from Mantineia to the Arcadian Orchomenos.
It was designed in 1987 by Dr. Argyris Petronotis, professor of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and construction began in 1989.
At the heart of the winery the striking traditional Arcadian stone tower dominates the modern building and integrates the old with the new, just as the wine is a synthesis of tradition and technology.
All our white and sparkling wines are produced at the winery, within the privately owned, organically cultivated moschofilero vineyards.
In the “Protected Designation of Origin” area of Mantinia we cultivate more than 35 Ha of mostly moschofilero grape variety at an altitude ranging from 627 to 655 meters, The vineyards are located in three separate zones: the Artemisio region, the collective vineyard of Zevgolatio, and the collective vineyard of the village of Agiorgitika. In the vineyard of Artemisio, in addition to moschofilero, we also cultivate syrah, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc. All of our vineyards are organically cultivated.
