Greenland Co-Farming

Green Land Co-Farming, nestled in Sterna, Messinia, Peloponnese, is a cooperative venture specializing in premium extra-virgin olive oil, Kalamata olives, and other olive-based delights, exported globally. Located just 40km northwest of Kalamata — a scenic half-hour drive through the Messinian olive groves — the farm has received numerous quality awards at international competitions, including the prestigious Sial Innovation award in 2023 for its Kalamata baked olives.

From May to September, the farm and bottling facility open their doors to visitors for an authentic olive oil tasting experience. Set against the ancient Messinian olive groves, the immersive two-hour tour begins at the village olive oil mill, then transitions to the olive farms, where olive oil harvesting and local tree varieties are revealed.

Gathered around a picturesque stone table, guests take part in a Kalamata Olives tasting session — discovering different recipes featuring Kalamata Olives and learning to distinguish between quality varieties. The tour culminates in a local food tasting showcasing flavours derived from the cooperative’s farm products.
