Description
At the Dio Fili (‘two friends’) Estate in Siatista, Macedonia, on the scenic Wine Route of the Lakes, the grape harvest is an invitation to participate in one of the most joyful traditions of northern Greek winemaking. Join the harvest team in the highland vineyards of the Kozani region. The privately-owned vineyards are located in the wider area of the municipality of Siatista, more specifically in the area of Petrovo, at an altitude of 600-700 meters. Following in the footsteps of the region’s long tradition which we combine with modern oenological techniques, we produce the PGI Siatista wine using sun-dried grapes of local varieties (xinomavro, moschomavro), and blending three vintages (2001, 1985, 1978). This wine, which French traveler Pouqueville described in 1806 as Macedonia’s finest one, became famous and has received awards at wine fairs from Bordeaux to San Francisco.
