Description
Nikos Argyriou, the founder of Argyriou Winery, was born in Polydrosso, Parnassos, in a family long engaged in agriculture and livestock breeding.
What contributed significantly to the decision to be engaged in the region of Parnassus, was the excellent terroir for the vineyard not only for the Greek but for the international grape varieties as well, giving excellent results.
Nikos’ Argyriou love for quality wines, along with his deep knowledge of agricultural production, engaged for long through his family, led him to establish his first vineyard in 1995 and founded Argyriou winery in 1999. His love and passion for high-quality wines have well been passed to all members of his family while the next generation takes slowly the lead in pursuing the family’s tradition.
Today the vineyard spans over 30 Ha, enough to meet the demand of the market.
TOUR AND TASTING
As the winery is not open to visitors, a model facility was built in Polydrosso so as to promote wine tourism. Operated by the Argyriou family, this facility enables visitors to taste our wines in a specially designed venue in the wine cellar of the guesthouse; they can also enjoy the local cuisine and numerous activities the region has to offer.
Booking Options
The guided tour takes place at the guesthouse and consists of a presentation of the estate’s history by Mrs. Argyriou. Next, a short video tour of the vineyard follows, and finally, a tasting session of four of the estate’s wines accompanied by local cheeses and cold cuts.
