Greek ‘Milinakia’

Milinakia aka tiropita.

The name used in the Thracian dialect for cheese pita is milina and, accordingly, milinakia are small bits of pita considered to be a treat, especially for children. The milinakia are made by the housewives of Thrace, usually using whatever pastry sheets are left over after making regular cheese pita.

While cheese is the most popular filling, other fillings can be used, including spinach, minced meat, potato or even leeks.
