Vakakis Winery

Vakakis Winery began producing wines in 2011 under genuinely adverse circumstances — not only the Greek financial crisis, but also a law in force since 1934 that mandated the entire grape production of Samian vineyards be vinified exclusively by cooperatives.

Against this backdrop, Vakakis founded a pioneering independent winery on Samos, Aegean Islands, with a clear philosophy: to produce a small number of wines of superior quality from rare local indigenous varieties, bottled with aesthetic care, destined to become the most recognisable ambassadors for the unique Samian vineyard. The organic vineyard was planted between 2004 and 2012.
